About the Artist

Hi, I’m Niamh, an abstract painter based in Manchester, UK, exploring themes of nature and identity. I am interested in painting as an expression of memories, places and an exploration of myself and my experiences.

Nature inspires a lot of my work, drawing upon places I’ve visited, childhood memories, and small moments that often go unnoticed. I want my paintings to feel like moving through a space, translating experiences and moments, rather than replicating nature. Creating an immersive dreamscape, a safe space for both artist and audience.

I draw upon the female abstract expressionists and I am inspired by how they respond to the world around them as well as the feelings and experiences of being a woman. I see my work as a version of a self portrait, an emotional landscape, rather than a physical one.
